“Mixie is a fantastic
coach because she is very creative, fun, and is always challenging
herself for her own personal growth and musicianship. Her clients
will look at her and say to themselves: ‘Wow, I want to
find something I can be excited about, too!”

Passions...
Mixie Kingman Eddy MA, the Founder
of Creative Legacies, is a Personal Historian and Creativity
Coach, as well as a hobby musician, who specializes in helping later-bloomers
re-awaken their passion for creative work. She also loves to interview
and then design for or co-design with her clients a special video or
photo book documenting a "living" archive of their personal
history and unique work, and/or the creativity of a special, gifted
individual in one's family (deceased or still living)…….so
that (like an ongoing blooming perennial flower) this highly creative
person's legacy will be preserved and live on for years to come!
If you are (or know of) a bright, budding
artist, writer, musician, architect, actor, inventor, artistic craftsperson,
landscape or interior designer, graphic artist, chef, website designer,
gardener, quilt maker, or any other creative type of person who wants
to preserve your or another's creative pursuits, then you are encouraged
to contact Creative Legacies.
Empathizing with overcoming feelings of
discouragement about getting a late start in awareness of her own creative
strengths, Mixie is motivated to inspire her fellow “later-bloomers”
that it’s never too late to pursue rewarding work or hobbies that
align with their creative talents. For example, she discovered her own
dream of playing traditional music (in a band) around age 40 and launched
her creativity career coaching and personal history business after age
50, following many years working (as a counselor and instructor) in
Singapore, Australia, and Puerto Rico at various international schools,
as well as high schools in Vermont and New Mexico, plus a college (teaching
Japanese business students) in Washington State.
Background...
Growing up amidst an exceptionally gifted
artistic/scientific family (her father was a brilliant artist, photographer,
and art museum director, her mother was an outstanding anthropologist,
her sister is a talented++ graphic designer, her husband is an inspiring
educator, and her son is the innovative founder of a high tech company),
Mixie has always thrived living and collaborating with synergistic teams
of highly imaginative people, who think “out of the circle”
in creative projects. During her work with clients, Mixie is passionate
about honoring one’s unique creativity and personal history, and
finds great joy in bringing out one's rich personal stories (especially
through photo memoirs and videos), to design a living tribute, since
this process taps both her clients' legacies and her own creativity
as well.
Having discovered her own passion for meaningfully
connecting with others to brainstorm and improvise new ideas and options,
she’s continuing to evolve her own professional development as
a personal historian. With myriad tools and resources, Mixie is adept
at eliciting clarity and untapped potential in her clients to spark
their creativity and help them discover their unique personal brand.
Her active pursuit of learning and identifying what makes diverse people
“tick,” serves her clients well. She has earned a Master’s
Degree in Counseling Psychology and certifications as a Career Management
Coach, Personal Branding Strategist, Career Development Facilitator,
Dependable Strengths Facilitator, and Technical Writer/Document Designer.
Mixie is also continuing her training in musical creativity, as well
as technical training to keep up with the current trends in designing
personal history photo memoirs in books and videos on both her Mac and
PC computers, in order to preserve one's creative pursuits and fascinating
stories.
Moreover,
Mixie is experienced in web design and spearheaded a website re-design
project for the Puget Sound Career Development Association in Seattle,
WA. She recently received a special award for her work as "Webmistress"
after serving on the Board of Directors for this non profit organization
during the past 7 years.
Additional Creative Interests...
Always striving to live a well-balanced
and healthful lifestyle full of creativity, Mixie loves playing traditional
Celtic music with various groups of musicians, designing layouts for
collages, videos, and websites, planning projects, taking photos, doing
creative writing, traveling overseas, walking with her special pooch,”
X-C skiing, bicycling, meditating, and picnicking in gorgeous parks
with her family and close friends mostly throughout the Pacific Northwest,
California, New England, and New Mexico (rain or shine)! Whenever she
cultivates her creative expression amidst nature's wonders, her life
and her work are greatly enhanced!
