Passions...

Mixie Kingman Eddy MA, the Founder of Blooming Creatives, is a Creativity Coach, as well as a Certified Career Management and Retirement or "ReInspirement" Coach, and a Certified Personal Branding Strategist, who specializes in helping later-bloomers re-awaken their passion for creative work. If you are a bright, budding artist, writer, musician, architect, actor, entertainment executive, inventor, artistic craftsperson, landscape or interior designer, graphic artist, chef, website designer, gardener, quilt maker, or a creative type of person who feels stuck in your current job, then you are encouraged to contact Blooming Creatives.

Empathizing with overcoming feelings of discouragement about getting a late start in awareness of her own creative strengths, Mixie is motivated to inspire her fellow “later-bloomers” that it’s never too late to find rewarding work that aligns with their creative talents. For example, she discovered her own dream of playing music (on a serious level) around age 40 and launched her career coaching business after age 50, following many years working (as a counselor and instructor) in Singapore, Australia, and Puerto Rico at various international schools, as well as high schools in Vermont and New Mexico and Bellevue Community College (working with Japanese business students) in Washington.

Background...

Growing up amidst a strong artistic/scientific family (her father was an artist and art museum director, and her mother was an anthropologist), Mixie has always thrived collaborating with synergistic teams of innovative people, who think “out of the box” on creative projects. In her work with clients and conducting research for her upcoming book, Mixie is interviewing a number of "blooming creatives" who want to rediscover themselves and find paid work doing what they innately enjoy. She’s heard countless stories from people who dread Monday mornings in their jobs, and thus she is very committed to making a difference.

Having discovered her own passion for meaningfully connecting with others to brainstorm and improvise new ideas and options, she’s continuing to evolve her own professional development. With myriad tools and resources, Mixie is adept at eliciting clarity and untapped potential in her clients to help them discover their personal brand. Her active pursuit of learning and identifying what makes diverse people “tick,” serves her clients well. She has earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and certifications as a Career Management Coach, Personal Brand Strategist, Career Development Facilitator, and Dependable Strengths Facilitator. Mixie is also currently training in specialized creativity, retirement, spiritual and life purpose competencies for coaching entrepreneurs.

Additional Creative Interests...

In addition to her positive, inspiring, encouraging and intuitive coaching skills, Mixie’s clients also benefit from her strong organizational and technical abilities. She helps generate realistic, practical, informed, and results-oriented plans and uses the Web effectively in career development and marketing. Mixie knows how to help manifest her clients’ visions online with a business site, career portfolio, blog or special project. In fact, Mixie is an experienced Web Designer and recently spearheaded a website re-design project for the Puget Sound Career Development Association in Seattle, WA (http://www.pscda.org/ ), and has served as Webmaster on the Board of Directors for the past 6 years.

Mixie also feels immensely passionate about creative arts programs being continued in today's middle and secondary schools, since she has seen first hand the huge positive effects that these programs have on one's self esteem and ability to learn throughout his/her life. She is dismayed that many music, art, and theater programs are being eliminated. Thus she wants to do something to enhance the possibilities of more arts programs being offered to our younger generations in today's school systems around the country.

Always striving to “walk her talk” in terms of a well-balanced and healthful lifestyle, Mixie loves playing Celtic and contra dance music with various groups of musicians, traveling, walking with her special lab “grand-dog,” X-C skiing, bicycling, meditating, writing, designing layouts for collages or websites, and picnicking in gorgeous parks with her family and close friends throughout the Pacific Northwest (even during rain and snow)! Whenever she cultivates her creative expression, it enhances her life and her work.
